Keep your watch looking its best

Care requirements vary by product, so always follow any specific instructions on the product page or supplied with the watch.

Water & moisture

Unless a product listing expressly gives a water-resistance specification, treat the watch as not water resistant. Avoid showering, swimming, immersion, steam rooms and prolonged exposure to high humidity.

Perfume, cosmetics & chemicals

Apply perfume, lotion, sunscreen and hair products before putting on your watch. Avoid direct contact with household cleaners, solvents, salt water and other chemicals that can affect finishes, crystals, seals or straps.

Leather straps

Keep leather straps as dry as possible. Allow them to air naturally if lightly damp, and avoid direct heat. Repeated moisture, cosmetics and friction can change the appearance of leather over time.

Metal bracelets & cases

Wipe gently with a clean, soft, dry cloth after wear. Avoid abrasive cloths and polishing compounds unless they are specifically suitable for the watch finish.

Impacts, magnets & storage

Avoid hard knocks, drops and strong magnetic sources. Store the watch in a dry place and, where possible, separately from harder jewelry to reduce scratching.

Battery-powered watches

If your product uses a quartz movement and the battery requires replacement, a qualified watch technician is a sensible choice. Do not leave a depleted battery inside a watch for an unnecessarily long period.

Bracelet sizing

Metal bracelet adjustment may require links or pins to be removed. If you are unfamiliar with the mechanism, use a watch repairer or jeweler to reduce the risk of scratching or damaging the bracelet.
